FormatNeeds feeder
Starting position
Player at base; feeder at the net on the other side with a box of shuttles.
Movement sequence
- Feeder hand-feeds or racket-feeds to any corner, at a pace the player can just reach in balance.
- Player splits on each feed, moves, plays a controlled shot (or catches the shuttle), and recovers.
- Feeder waits for the player to start recovering before the next feed.
Recovery
Base after every shuttle.
Technique cues
- Split on the feeder's movement
- Recover before you look
Common mistakes
- Feeding too fast (footwork breaks down)
- Player guessing
Easier
Two corners only, or catch the shuttle instead of hitting.
Harder
Faster feeds or 20+ shuttles per set.
Safety
- Stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness, chest pain or unusual breathlessness.
