Setup
Feeder at the net with shuttles; targets in both rear corners on the feeder's side.
Step by step
- Feeder drops shuttles to the player's forehand and backhand net corners.
- Player lunges and lifts to a rear target, straight or cross.
- Recover to base after each lift.
Success criteria
10 of 15 lifts landing past the doubles long service line.
Common mistakes
- Short lifts
- Bending at the waist instead of lunging
Easier version
Lift from a hand feed without lunging; any lift past the midcourt counts.
Advanced version
Hold-and-flick deception; feeder can intercept low lifts.
Progression
Smaller targets or faster feeds.
Safety
- Stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness, chest pain or unusual breathlessness.
